Why Care for Life?
RECOGNIZE THE DIFFERENCE Our agency is led by a Board Certified Wound Care Nurse from Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nursing (WOCN). Studies have shown that patients who were cared for by WOC nurses had better outcomes in terms of healing rates compared to patients cared for by other nurses (Arnold & Weir, 1994; Bolton et al., 2004; Harris & Shannon, 2008; Peirce, Tiffany, Kinsey & Link, 2008). As CMS transitions to value-based purchasing, the value of WOC nursing is easily identified as facilities and agencies implement best practices to prevent pressure ulcers and catheter-associated urinary tract infections. The emphasis on preventive care is mandated across all care settings. (WOCN Society, 2010) WOC nurses are experts in providing the comprehensive prevention measures and care planning necessary to reduce the frequency of these conditions.
RECOGNIZE THE DEDICATION Our mission is to help build a healthy aging community by getting involved with the dissemination of Evidence-Based Programs, utilizing care coordination, prevention, self-empowerment, and efficacy.
RECOGNIZE THE EXPERIENCE Caring for patients with chronic wounds is an increasing problem, and the increased focus on pressure ulcers has attracted attention. They often have comorbidities and chronic conditions that can lead to frequent hospitalizations. Choosing a Home Healthcare provider that focuses on prevention and management produces better patient outcomes, reduces costs, and increases patient satisfaction.
